Blue Hill Academy founded in 1803; combined with George Stevens Academy (founded 1891) in 1943 to form Blue Hill-George Stevens Academy; in 1962 dropped 'Blue Hill' from the name and name reverted to George Stevens Academy; a private school in Blue Hill, Me., which serves also as public school for Blue Hill and other area towns. Collection contains materials relating to the academy and its successors including financial documents and correspondence, evenly split.
